About

Maybe you’ve heard this story before, or it’s your story as well...

Throughout my life, I struggled with digestive problems and serious hormonal imbalances. I developed a stomach ulcer and perioral dermatitis. I had cysts on my ovaries, and I lost my period. In desperation, I followed my doctor’s recommendations to take prescription or over-the-counter medicine, and when my symptoms recurred, I felt incredibly disappointed and confused.

I realized the conventional, Western, allopathic approach to treating illness didn't truly make me feel better or help me achieve the wellness I was seeking. To me, the remedies offered were like Band-Aids, and I always sort of felt like it wasn’t about me at those doctor appointments.

What was at the root of why I was feeling so bad

My wondering and frustration led to immersing myself in the world of holistic nutrition, pursuing certification. Body, hello. Hello, body. What is it you're telling me? This was a journey worth taking. I adopted a holistic approach to life, with food and nutrition at the forefront, to eliminate my health problems, and this has led to a sense of well-being I don’t think I could have found otherwise. And it all makes sense when you think about it...

Most people love food. I, most certainly, am no exception. Food fosters happiness and community—I put a lot of love into my home-cooked meals and I love knowing exactly what I’m putting into my body. I eat with a whole-foods, plant-based approach; emphasizing whole, minimally processed foods, limiting animal products, and focusing on plants, including lots of fruits and vegetables. This is what optimized my health. I don’t believe in diets but rather in the mentality to treat food as medicine. Focusing on my own nutrition came easy, and I soon found myself sharing my education with family and friends who were also seeking a deeper sense of wellness and vitality.

This is about empowerment. It was for me, and it can be for you, too. Taking control outside the doctor’s office is big. Medicine has its place, it is to be respected, but at the root are the basics: nutrition, exercise, sleep, and your thoughts. These consciousness-raising, foundational elements changed my life, and I have seen them change others’ lives as well.

Cheers to making it about you—
